We are looking for two postdoctoral researchers to join the AI-Enabled Smart Cities research team at the University of Florida (UF)! This is an exciting interdisciplinary research opportunity to drive innovations in planning, design, and construction, making a real impact on urban environments. πποΈ
πΉ Postdoc A: Focuses on Smart Cities as a system of systems (transportation, infrastructure, buildings, public spaces, etc.) and will manage the DCP Industry Innovation Summit and the International Conference on AI-Enabled Smart Cities.
πΉ Postdoc B: Advances AI-driven planning and design to streamline the multi-step process from planning and design to construction. This role also contributes to the development of AI-Enabled Smart Cities academic programs.

2024 Fall - Two Postdoc Researcher Positions at Urban AI Lab (University of Florida) - COMPLETE
The Urban AI Lab in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, along with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida (UFL) is hiring two Postdoctoral Researchers, who can contribute to our cutting-edge research in developing adaptive mobility services using artificial intelligence (AI) and multi-level connected and automated mobility systems.
We are looking for expertise in travel demand analysis, deep learning, graph neural networks, spatiotemporal modeling, emerging mobility, community engagement, and survey design. This project is a collaborative effort involving prestigious institutions, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Florida (UFL), and Northeastern University (NEU), among many others. The project seeks to address mobility challenges in accessing critical healthcare destinations by leveraging AI techniques to provide adaptive and equitable mobility services to low-income communities.
Position Details:
Title: Postdoctoral Associates. Depending on the candidatesβ background, we can also offer Instructional Assistant Professor positions.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000
Contract Period: 2 years for postdocs, and 3 years for instructional assistant professors.
Starting time: Fall 2024
Location: Gainesville, Florida

Your Role:
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will play a vital role in advancing the research agenda of the Urban AI Lab. Your responsibilities will include the development, deployment, and evaluation of the urban mobility system using AI, along with engaging communities for feedback. The two postdoctoral researchers will be supervised by Prof. Shenhao Wang, Prof. Bu Yuheng, and Prof. Lingqian Hu at the UFL, in collaboration with Prof. Jinhua Zhao from MIT and Prof. Haris Koutsopoulos from NEU. The two postdoctoral researchers will also have chances to supervise master and undergraduate students from the Urban Analytics program at the UFL.
